He’s done it!! At the weekend Gareth Corbett finished the famous Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in 42 hours and 35 minutes! He also exceeded his fundraising target by 192% and has raised an incredible £9,635.20 for The Burrow!
Gareth got back to Guernsey last night along with plenty of blisters and bruises from his amazing achievement. He ran non-stop with no sleep and intense heat from 6pm on Friday 26th August and finished at around 12pm on Sunday 28th August. His little girls Holly and Chloe even ran the last few hundred metres with him! Gareth’s youngest daughter Holly was born prematurely and the family’s experience was the inspiration behind this challenge. You can read Gareth’s full story here.
We’d like to thank everyone who donated and offered kind words of encouragement throughout Gareth’s journey! Gareth’s wife Susie has also been such an important part of the fundraising and has worked really hard to raise awareness of the work that we do. Thank you Susie.
