Local powerboat enthusiasts Sean Homer and David Le Maitre will be taking part in this year’s Stanley Gibbons Investment Powerboat Race Series to raise awareness for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation.

The duo is called, ‘Wonky Donkey Offshore Racing’ and is sponsored by White Rock Brewery, brewers of the Wonky Donkey bitter that inspired the team’s name.

Launch party – all welcome!

A launch party will be held on Saturday 21st May at The Golden Lion ahead of the first two club championship races of the season. Head down to Market Square between 1pm – 4pm to check out the impressive powerboat and enjoy some good food & music.

The Guernsey Powerboat Association is also going to be supporting us by splitting proceeds from donations received from race weekend programmes between the PPBF and Guernsey’s Lifeboat.

‘I was born prematurely before the charity existed but the work that they do still has a lot of meaning to my family and I. We hope that having the PPBF’s logo on our boat and inviting volunteers down to busy race days will help raise both funds and awareness.’ – Sean Homer

‘We were really keen to support Sean and Dave as they both have a lot of passion for powerboat racing – as do we! The work that the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation do is extremely important to many local families so we’re delighted to be involved in some way.’ – Jack Gervaise-Brazier, co-founder of White Rock Brewery

Wonky Donkey Offshore Racing will also be taking part in the prestigious Cowes Classic 2016 Offshore Powerboat Race on 4th September.

Come and watch some exciting races over the next few months and look out for our volunteers who will be selling flags to raise money for The Burrow! The first races are due to take place at Havelet Bay on Saturday 28th May at 11.00am and Sunday 29th May, 12.00pm.

The public has been advised to keep an eye on the Guernsey Powerboat Association’s Facebook page for updates of any time and course changes: www.facebook.com/GSYPA
